Lynchburg Lemonade Cocktail Recipe
The Lynchburg Lemonade is a member of the sours cocktail family and makes a cracking summer party drink. The Lynchburg Lemonade is a very simple cocktail to mix, as it requires just five ingredients and no specialist cocktail making equipment, making it perfect for novice cocktail makers.
History of the Lynchburg Lemonade
As the name suggests the Lynchburg lemonade cocktail originates from Lynchburg, Tennessee, in the USA. Lynchburg is not only the birthplace of this great cocktail, it is also the home of it’s most famour ingredient, Jack Daniels Tennessee Whiskey.
The Lynchbury lemonade was originally created back in 1980 by local restaurant owner Tony Mason, although it was the Jack Daniels Distillery’s sales representatives who, using it as a promotional tool for their whiskey, introduce the cocktail to a wider audience.
Since it’s first introduction the Lynchburg lemonade has become a very popular cocktail, which now appears on cocktail menus the whole world over. The Lynchburg lemonade makes a very refreshing summer drink, perfect of cooling off on a hot summers day.
1 oz Jack Daniels Tennessee Whiskey
1 oz Sours Mix
1 oz Triple Sec
Juice of half a fresh lemon
4 oz Spite
Topped of with a good helping of ice.
Pour all the ingridients into a 16oz and give it all a really good stir.
Top up the glass with ice and serve.
